Transforming power sector with AI

On 11 October 2025, an interactive workshop titled “Transforming the Power Sector with AI” was organized by the IEEE PES Sri Lanka Chapter in collaboration with EESoc and the IEEE PES University of Moratuwa Student Chapter. The event was held at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa, bringing together undergraduates, researchers, and industry professionals. The workshop focused on future-oriented applications of Artificial Intelligence in power systems through educational sessions, hands-on technical workshops, and interactive discussions. Participants also had the opportunity to network with peers and experts from across universities and the power industry. This event served as a valuable platform to explore how AI is reshaping modern power systems, inspiring students to adapt to emerging technologies and bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice.
